Michael Grieve
Photographer & Director of HWF
Is the founder and director of Hamburg Werkstatt Fotografie, and is currently based in Athens and Berlin. He is a photographer, writer, lecturer and director/founder of ArtFotoMode. He graduated with an MA in Photographic Studies from the University of Westminster in 1997. He has been a photographer commissioned for magazines and publications internationally and represented by Agence VU in Paris. In 2010 he became the deputy editor of 1000 Words Contemporary Photography Magazine. Since 2011 he has been a senior lecturer at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, a lecturer at Akademia Fotografii in Warsaw/Krakow, a lecturer at the University of Art and Design in Berlin, and currently teaches two seminar classes in Conceptual Documentary and Intimate Portrait, at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin. He is a regular writer and portrait photographer for the British Journal of Photography. He continues to work on personal documentary photography projects.
