Photographer

Jonas Feige (*1988) is a German photographer. In his work, he strives for a balance between a documentary interest in the world and an intimate, poetic reading of space and our everyday surroundings.

From 2016–21 he worked on the project Zenker, a collaboration with the photographer Yana Wernicke, which addresses the history of German colonialism in Cameroon by way of a portrait of the botanist and gardener Georg August Zenker and his descendants. A book of the project was published by Edition Patrick Frey in 2021.

In 2021 he completed the project This soil we have created for ourselves, which looks at the echoes of the German past in the present and which later published as a photobook by Kominek Books.

He is currently working on a new body of work in the city of Weimar as well as a collaborative photobook with Alan Huck, to be published by Another Earth.
